Amazon has updated its line of Fire HD 8 tablets. There are three versions on the menu, all equipped with a significantly faster processor, more storage capacity, and an improved design.

tablets Fire HD 8: Fire HD 8, Fire HD 8 Plus, and Fire HD 8 Kids. Expected in October with no further details at this stage, these new affordable slates benefit from a lighter and more refined design, a new processor that is supposed to deliver 30% more performance, and are equipped with revised and increased storage capacity. .
The vintage 2022 Fire HD 8s also feature a basic but practical novelty called “Tap to Alexa,” which allows you to interact with Amazon’s personal assistant without having to use voice command. Activation of the interactions is then done through a simple context menu that groups the main commands.
Three basic but affordable tablets
From a technical point of view, all three tablets are based on an 8-inch touch screen limited to a modest definition of 1280 by 800 pixels. Surrounded by wide borders, the latter won’t impress anyone in 2022, but it should suffice for most uses. For the rest, Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 8 Kids are equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal storage. Finally, there are two 2 Mpx cameras housed at the front and rear. The kids version is finally super tough, with a shock-resistant case provided by default and a “worry-free” two-year warranty.

A little better equipped, the Fire HD 8 Plus has 3 GB of RAM and a 5 MP rear camera. It also supports 15W fast charging, but you’ll need a compatible charger, which is likely to be sold separately. Amazon finally promises that its Fire HD 8 Plus will allow, like its little sisters, an autonomy of 13 hours in mixed use.

These modest specs allow the Fire HD 8 to launch at relatively affordable prices. Comptez 114.99 euros for the Fire HD 8 classic (declined in noir, blue and rose), 134.99 euros for the Kids version (available in blue, rose, rouge and violet) and 119.99 euros for the Fire HD 8 Plus.
