In early September, Microsoft officially introduced the new Elite Series 2 Core controller. But while this stripped-down Elite controller should stand out for its reliability, it seems that the known problems of the range are still present in this new model.
There are already Elite 2 Core controller issues
Officially available since September 21st, the first pads reached the hands of gamers and it didn’t take long before complaints arose.
Several players are already reporting on Reddit (Case 1, case 2, case 3) Y Twitter that your white Elite controller is having trouble detecting the A and Y buttons, or even the grips. These symptoms are not new as they are the exact same symptoms that were already affecting the Elite V1 and V2 controllers that many players had to return.
Microsoft wanted to be reassuring
However, when the controller was announced, Microsoft said that it had listened to player feedback by evoking a more “robust” product when the controller was announced:
We listen to player feedback and continue to improve Elite Series 2 controllers to be stronger than ever, using components built to last. For added peace of mind, Microsoft guarantees Elite Series 2 controllers for one year. Elite Series 2 controllers are designed to be fully customizable, so you can play the way you want.
As a reminder, the Elite Series 2 Core controller is offered at €129.99 and you can purchase the accessory pack with the carrying case separately for €59.99.
Feel free to tell us in the comments if you have bought this new driver and if you are also having problems with it.
