Edit Napoli is the story of the meeting between Emilia Petruccelli and Domitilla Dardi, two women passionate about design. The former left the world of finance to open a gallery-boutique in Rome specializing in signature design, halfway between limited series and the big market, which remains the root of Italian design – and of European design in general. The second is curator of exhibitions at the National Museum of 20th Century Arts.me century in Rome. Edit Napoli was born in Naples two years ago. “Here, the tradition of craftsmanship is still very much alive. The city was built on the connection between multiple cultures and countries, the coexistence of the noble and the poor. All this feeds a certain open-mindedness”, the healer continues. Far from being limited to this space, Edit Napoli extends to the entire city. Wooden works by Michele De Lucchi will be exhibited as contemporary votive offerings in the church of Santa Luciella, and Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek, “one of the greatest representatives of contemporary craftsmanship, who transcribes well what design can become”, will invest in the Made in Cloister foundation. Many other events will invite visitors to open the doors of Neapolitan workshops, factories and other treasures.
