Here is the R5 Turbo 3E, an electric tribute to the bombinette of the 80s

Since Renault confirmed the return of the R5 in 2024, concept cars have followed one another. After the R5 Prototype and the luxurious R5 Diamant, the diamond brand returns with a sports version that pays homage to the R5 Turbo and Turbo 2. Called R5 Turbo 3E, it takes up certain aesthetic details of its predecessors (square fog lights, air intakes on the hood) but the similarities end there. Beneath its carbon fiber body, this concept sits on a tubular chassis and is powered by electricity.

Two electric motors are installed on each rear wheel that offer a total power of 380 hp and a maximum torque of 700 Nm, enough for the car to show performance hitherto unknown in a Renault model. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, despite a considerable weight for a car less than 4.10 meters long (1,500 kg). If the weight of the car remains under a tonne, the battery still weighs on the concept. Despite its 42 kWh capacity, it weighs more than 500 kg.

Which also seems to confirm the significant steering angle of the front wheels (greater than 50 degrees) and the numerous camera mounting brackets to film your performance.
